Born and educated in Northern Ireland, Emma Thorpe (nee Irvine), moved to England in 1987, where she completed her secondary education and continued on to Chester University earning a BA (HONS) in Psychology and Sports Science.
After a couple of years in the working world, Emma found herself in the IT specialist recruitment industry where she worked for two high profile global IT Recruitment specialists as a Recruitment Resourcer, Team Leader, Customer Service Advisor and finally branching into Marketing Management, whilst studying part time with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Emma took a break from her studies and work to travel round the world. On her return she worked as a Locum Recruitment Consultant and also a Marketing Manager / PA to MD for a European Distributor, whilst finalising her Diploma in Marketing. She then secured a role as UK Marketing Manager for Martin Professional PLC, a global manufacturing market leader in the dynamic lighting industry.
Redundancy from Martin Professional led to a life decision to become self employed and realising the gap in the market for marketing implementation, Emma forged ahead with filling this gap in the business world.
Emma is a fully qualified Marketer, gaining DipM ACIM and has over 14 years Marketing Management experience and 20 years Administrative, PA and Customer Service experience.
Emma’s passion is seeing businessesgrow and enjoys helping improve companies profiles and engagement with their prospects and clients by successfully implementing their marketing strategies. Emma works with a wide variety of clients, believing that the marketing rules are the same no matter what business you are in, therefore you can help any business market itself by choosing the most relevant set of tools.
Emma also runs a successful local women’s networking group Mid Kent LadiesWhoLatte, which meets once a month and has jointly established the Business Foundation Academy with Sian Murphy, which aims to help business owners focus on what they really need to know about running and marketing a business, and how to make it simple.
