Tune into a stimulating conversation with Barbara and Dawn while they talk to you about your relationship with your family.  We’ve already discussed the number one relationship each one of us has, the one that lasts a lifetime and that is our relationship with ourselves.  Now it’s time to improve our relationships with others by trading our expectations for showing our appreciation.  Summer time in the northern hemisphere gives each person the quality time to spend with their family enjoying the outdoors, while winter time in the southern hemisphere gives each person the quality time to spend with their family tucked up around a cosy and roaring winter fire.

Send in your questions and come to listen to Dawn and Barbara who will talk to you about the importance of seeking to understand before being understood.

JULY’S WHEEL OF RELATIONSHIPS

Recommended reading and suggestions discussed in the show:

In previous shows we’ve discussed the benefits of working on the number one relationship each one of us has, the one that lasts a lifetime, and that is our own relationship with ourselves.  Now it’s time to improve our relationships with others by trading our expectations by showing our appreciation.

Summer time in the northern hemisphere gives each person the opportunity to spend quality time with their family and friends while enjoying the outdoors.  Winter time in the southern hemisphere gives each person the opportunity to spend quality time with their family and friends tucked up and cosy around a roaring winter fire.  Which ever you’re experiencing, summer or winter, now is the ideal time to deepen family bonds, build bridges, reconnect, meet up with friends, make new friends, and possibly face up to outstanding conflict to name but a few scenarios you may experience …

To be clear what we mean by a relationship, the dictionary we used for our research says:

  1. The condition of having a connection or association – so that’s friends, colleagues, and all other acquaintances either professionally or social…
  2. Connection by blood or marriage; kinship – so that’s our immediate birth/adopted/foster family, which is then extended through our significant other (i.e. marriage).

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances:
if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”
